“My research over the past few years has focused on the witch, a figure that has already been appropriated by various women’s liberation groups in the past. As such, I have been able to ground my practice in some of these feminist discourses, which were often radical (regarding patriarchy as women’s main source of oppression) and Marxist (regarding capitalism as a major form of oppression). I began to wonder how these discourses might be applied to the feminist discourses of today, mainly with regards to the concepts of intersectionality and trans-inclusion. The selected texts have acted as guide posts in my deconstruction and reconstruction of these themes, and have helped me reflect on new ways of being in the world.”

“During our meetings, I would like to share some of my reflections on an article written by Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, titled The Art of Awareness, on the profound link between mindfulness and the creative process.

From this short text and the connection between meditative and creative traditions, I will talk about a few marginal practices throughout history, such as those of Yoginis, witches and free artists.

In what ways have practitioners come to create these fertile, often marginalized spaces for ritual, that allow them to encounter the self and the nature of their spirit – either communally or in the solitude of the studio or in one’s practice? These brave practices focus on the sensitive oscillations of the relationship between inner and phenomenal worlds. By carefully observing the perceptions and reactions that govern the open and closed parts of our bodies and our minds, to come into contact with each other and with our environment.”
