Intime — Workshop (Collecting stories and impressions)
Registration required
Aboard the Villa — véhicule d’arts actuels et numériques, visual artist Laurent Lévesque will embark on a week-long tour during which he’ll visit gardens in the municipality of Saint-Calixte, with the intent of delving into the more intimate aspects of the private garden. The pictures the artist takes during his visits tell the story of a personal relationship to these manicured spaces.
Partnering with members of the Société d’horticulture et d’écologie de Saint-Calixte as well as gardeners of all stripes living in the area, the artist is especially interested in learning how amateur horticulturalists see these gardens as reflections of the people who planted them. What drives these dedicated horticulturalists? What feelings and sensations circulate in the creation of these domestic gardens?
The week of visits ends with an evening of discussion accompanied by a video projection and moderated by the artist. At this event, the public and participating gardeners are encouraged to offer their thoughts on what lies behind this intimate connection to nature, to the garden and to the earth.
