Atelier — La contingence du risque performatif [The contingency of risk in performance]

This workshop addresses the notion of risk as an active agent that allows individuals to surpass themselves, come together, and pool their resources. Through discussions and performative actions, participants are invited to act as part of an experimental research collective that uses performance in reaction to the physical, cultural or political context in which the work takes place. This process will be used as a way to destabilize art practices and explore new ways of approaching the creative process.

Laurence Beaudoin Morin invites performance artists or anyone interested in the practice to conversational exchanges leading to the initiation of a performative gesture in the public space, using risk as a trigger, a means, or a theme for the action posed. This workshop takes place in three 2-hour blocks on the Zoom platform. During the second meeting, artist stvn girard will take part in the workshop as a guest artist to stimulate proposals through his practice, in which he implements ”different strategies such as reconduction, hoax, quotation and infiltration” and ”attempts to keep visibility and invisibility together, so as to criticize the act of exposing oneself”.
