De toutes les choses qui auraient pu être enterrées [Of all the things that could have been buried] — Performance
6 p.m.
Verticale — centre d’artistes invites the public to a performance by Rose de la Riva to conclude her Dormance project.
Over the past few months, Rose de la Riva has engaged in an exploratory drawing and video-performance practice on the subject of plants, winter, and rest. But with the coming of spring, it’s now time for this project to be paused. As the cold and dark begin to retreat, the artist’s performance De toutes les choses qui auraient pu être enterrées [Of all the things that could have been buried] invites us to take a moment to contemplate the winter we’ve just experienced.
The event will consist of a performance picnic that addresses the renaissance of plants and the gap between their dormancy period and cycles of productivity. In a formal relationship with the muddy landscape of spring and horticultural settings, the artist will address our conflictual relationship with rest and our obsession with hustle culture.
