Presentation of authors

Verticale—centre d’artistes invites the public to a presentation by writer Eve Laliberté and guest mentor Lise Lamarche, which concludes the 1^st edition of the writing mentorship program launched last spring.

This open discussion looks at the publication project Emprunter (le bout de l’île), available for pick-up and a reading-walk in the district of Saint-François this fall.

Created at the very beginning of the pandemic, this work is characterized by the rhythm of working under lockdown, mentorship meetings via telephone, and a very present feeling of urgency and uncertainty.

The author and mentor share their own reflections on the project and discuss how the pandemic and lockdown affected their creative process and the resulting work. They conclude with a discussion on the importance of walking and the geographic link to the land in the creative writing process of this Laval-based project.
