For her project Mous souvenirs, Miri Chekhanovich pays regular visits to the building where Verticale and the Laval Armenian community centre are located.

Outside under the big weeping willow, Chekhanovich sets up a makeshift kitchen where she will prepare the clear gelatin she uses for her sculptures. By working with bioplastics in small quantities, she can make frequent adjustments in response to her context.

What does it mean to know a place? Through its holes, through its openings? What is belonging? To be part of, or to be outside of something? How can one engage in conversations with other Armenians about displacement? About the notion of home?
