Verticale — centre d’artistes invites the public to the opening of Ensemble nous vaincrons le futur, an immersive installation by artist Jacinthe Loranger. The work was composed in situ for a wooded area of the Centre de la nature, a huge urban park located in part on the site of a former landfill.
Made from casts of garbage, food scraps and found objects, Ensemble nous vaincrons le futur re-actualizes the still-life tradition to examine our troubled relationship with objects. The fragility of certain plaster pieces, exposed to the elements and accidents, adds an ephemeral dimension, threatening to destroy the fantasized worlds staged by the artist.
