Purpose of Data Collection
We collect only the data necessary to fulfill our mission. Specifically, this information enables Verticale – Centre d’artistes to contribute to the development of contemporary art. Our center provides professional and emerging artists with spaces for creation and dissemination, fosters community engagement, and facilitates public interactions.
We will not collect additional data without informing you in advance.
How We Use Personal Data?
Personal data collected on our site will be used solely for the purposes specified in this policy or as indicated on the relevant pages of our site. We will not use your data beyond what we disclose.
Automatically Collected Data: Used for statistical analysis.
Manually Collected Data: May be used for:
1 — Newsletter registration: To communicate via newsletters and for statistical purposes.
2 — Membership registration: To send promotional materials by mail, possibly newsletters, and occasionally to inquire about volunteer opportunities at your discretion. Additionally, membership information helps meet funding obligations.
3 — Donations: To issue official donation receipts and potentially send promotional materials and newsletters. Banking information is handled by third-party systems (PayPal) and is necessary for payment processing.
4 — Calls for applications: To communicate with you via phone or email and potentially invite you to participate in our programming. Website, artistic discipline information, and CVs are shared with the selection committee evaluating applications.
With Whom We Share Personal Data?
Employees: We may disclose user data to any member of our organization who reasonably requires it to achieve the objectives outlined in this policy.
Third Parties: We may share user data with third parties for the following purposes:
1 — Government Funding Agencies : Such as Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, City of Laval, and Canada Council for the Arts, for statistical reporting.
2 — Financial Platforms : Such as PayPal and Caisse de la Culture Desjardins, for payment processing.
3 — Canada Revenue Agency : For issuing official donation receipts.
4 — Selection Committee : For evaluating artistic project submissions.
Third parties will only have access to user data to the extent reasonably necessary to fulfill their purpose.
Other Disclosures
We will not sell or share your data with other third parties, except in the following cases:

1 — Donations: Official receipts are kept for five years per Canada Revenue Agency requirements.
2 — Payments: Checks are destroyed a few weeks after deposit.
3 — Calls for Applications: Data is retained indefinitely for archiving purposes.
4 — Contact Information: Names, addresses, emails, and phone numbers are retained indefinitely for communication and archiving purposes.
Protecting Your Data
All private data stored in our system is secured and accessible only to our employees. Employees are bound by strict confidentiality agreements, and any breach results in termination.
While we take reasonable precautions to secure user data, the internet remains inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee complete protection beyond reasonable measures.
