Déroute
Summer — autumn 2023
Déroute seeks to highlight the problem of obsolescence, as evidenced by landscapes marred by a proliferation abandoned highway infrastructure. This installation takes the form of an art intervention in vacant urban lot, and projects us in the vestiges of the automobile era’s blind romanticism.
Set in an abandoned, yet-to-be-developed lot, Déroute raises questions about the exponential growth of our current highway networks, the limits of urban sprawl, and the fragmentation of natural environments.
