Les clubs [The clubs] — 9th edition
Our summer Club activity is back for its 9th edition!
The Clubs are informal seminars that take place in natural settings such as riverbanks, or in studios, with guest artists, writers, and researchers. Brought together around common conceptual or formal concerns in line with their practice, participants discuss readings and share knowledge from a range of disciplinary fields.
As part of our current programming under the theme of Fermentation, science and fiction, Verticale has invited artist Peter Flemming to locate his thought process in the fertile upheavals of the present and in the projection of an uncertain future. Starting with the fermentation experiments Flemming developed during a recent residency at the Quebec Studio in Berlin, the clubs, readings, and actions proposed here become points of entry to explore some of the themes that run through his practice, namely an interest in building complex and unpredictable systems.
